A double lecture from two professional magicians from Cambridge. Close-up and cabaret effects for everyone to consider.

Both of these competitions will be held on the one night again, albeit as separate competitions. This is therefore your chance to prove that you are more mental than the rest of the members and/or more original. Last year, both competitions were won by Mick Hanzlik.

What do you do when you're asked to do a trick on the spare of the moment when you have no cards, no coins and the change bag is in the garage? Steve Dimmer hosts a night that consists entirely of impromptu magic on the hoof.

Note that this meeting is one day later than usual because of the World Cup.

This year we have arranged for an audience of real children to respond to competitors' effects. Namely, the Guilsborough Brownies Pack who will be a very lively crowd of 7 to 10 year olds to entertain. Currently, the Pip Ayris Trophy for Childrens' Entertainment is held by Steve Dimmer.

The venue for the competition is Guilsborough School, Guilborough, from 6.30 PM - 7.45 PM

The results of the previous day's Children's Competition will be announced, followed by a lecture by Poz, who is one of the country's leading children's entertainers.

Because of the World Cup, it is hoped that this lecture will rescheduled for later in the week.

Bryan Hooton hosts a night of mind magic performed by members.

Instead of an Auction, an indoor carboot sale, with all members asked to sell their surplus effects.

This is an additional meeting that was not in the original programme. He comes highly recommended and is the creator of many practical best-selling commercial effects, including Eye to Eye, Body Language, Nostra Damus, the Houdini Deck Mystery, Numerology, and the Diabolical Wallet.

Hosted by Roy Gilbert, this will be a show featuring some big names!

Our annual competition for non-close-up magic, with trophies currently held by Malcolm Chase, Roscoe Birchmore and Graham Sargent.

Following on from his impressive performance at Roy Gilbert's night last year, Colin will present many effects, moves and subtleties involving a simple ring and rope. Bring your along so you can participate fully. The second half will consist of general prop ideas!
