The dictionary defines "mnemonics" as "a system to develop or improve the memory".
The word "mnemonics" is derived from Mnemosyne who, in Greek mythology, was the goddess of
memory. She and Zeus, father of the gods, were the parents of the nine Muses. Mnemosyne was one
of the pre-Olympian Titans, who were the children of the god of the heavens, Uranus, and the
goddess of the earth, Gaea.
